Next week, I Promise!!!!

Since we have really been working on the water damage at my shop and since I have been travelling this week, we (once again) don't really have a video episode. Terribly sorry - but things are more than a little chaotic....

I got home this morning from the Las Vegas Market and I found some pretty cool things....so instead of a video this week, I have photos of some of what I found...enjoy!!!!

WHEW! There was a lot to see in a very short period of time! More later........

We've sprung a leak......

Terribly sorry! No episode this week....

A pipe burst in the ceiling of my shop last night dousing half of the shop in brown sewer water - did I mention that it was brown?????? - and I have been rather occupied trying to get it all cleaned up. We are going to have to be closed - probably through the weekend. I am totally bummed!

Anyhoo......that's why we have no new episode. When Sue and I actually got together last night (while the poor sweet plumber - Steven Jr. at Ackerman Plumbing - was toiling away) I just did not have it in me to be very perky on film. Perky, ok - VERY perky...not so much. So I had a lovely carafe - seriously - OK, so half a carafe of White Sangria at LoLo on Alberta...yummy!

Next week, I will be at the Las Vegas Market so you will get a full report...........

EPISODE # 54 - kind of.....

HELLO OUT THERE YOU PATIENT PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

This week, instead of a video blog (I'm working on a better video system, please be patient), we are taking a tour of my FAVORITE vintage furniture/accessories store - Lounge Lizard - located at SE 12th & SE Hawthorne in Portland. Amazing place - I always find something - ALWAYS! I love working a cool vintage piece into a design plan - there is so much good stuff out there and there is no good reason to not use something. Here is what I found today with a quick walk through.......

This was in the front window. Vintage dresser painted up in black / orange with applied gears - so cool!

They also have vintage dishes/plates, etc - I loved this little mushroom bowl....

A complete collection of dime store bamboo plates - really lovely!

They had a pair of these handsome floor lamps - love the teak legs and the shade....

Another gear dresser in lime/black. I still love the orange!

Incredibly beautiful tamboured roll top teak desk...if only I had room!

Another tamboured piece - a nice little bar perhaps? I sure do love tamboured pieces.



A beautiful red - and I do mean RED - refinished dresser - this is where I got my red dresser I blogged about a few weeks ago...

They had a pair of these cute little side tables....

...and they had a pair of these chairs - just add a cushion with a great fabric......

.....and lastly, a wall of Tiki goodness.......

So there you have it...Lounge Lizard on Hawthorne...get down there!!!

Today's episode is a seminar I attended today at the Kravet Showroom here in Portland. Weirdo Todd was with me and the subject was ...social media for the interior designer.... I use Blogger, Twitter and Facebook and wanted to see if there was anything I was leaving out...but I think I am right on track! I hope this seminar can prove useful to any fellow designers out there, or anyone not yet fully on board with social media. Thanks Kravet for a great seminar and a lovely lunch!

Many apologies...Our video this week has been completely destroyed somewhere in the link (or lack thereof..) between my iphone and the video service - lost forever I tell you! Terribly sorry......and since we are both super busy this week with client work, we will not have the opportunity to record another episode until next week........ You will just have to peruse our previous editions to hold you over until then.

I know, I know, I just need to break down and get a REAL camera...

Patience, patience

Many apologies....we should be up and running in the next hour-ish. We have been using Qik video from my iphone and it takes about 2 hours to download a 15 minute video into an email to send to blogger. It has crashed twice about half way through. It looks like it took this time and you should see a video up shortly! Thanks for your patience! Keep calm and carry on!
