drink & design tip of the week -episode 7

Our drink this week is Sex on the Beach...here is the recipe:

1 1/2 oz vodka

1/2 oz peach schnapps

2 oz cranberry juice

2 oz orange juice

Add vodka and peach schnapps to a highball glass over ice. Fill with equal measures of cranberry juice and orange juice, and stir.

Our Design Tip of the Week this week is:

USE YOUR OUTDOOR SPACES LIKE YOU WOULD YOUR INDOOR SPACES!

Use it! Furnish it! Decorate it! Get out in it! YIPPEE!!!!

EPISODE 6-ish....

HELLO ALL! We are running a bit behind this evening - and I am going solo on this one tonight...Sue and I went out last night to record tonight's episode and we were just having so much fun sitting outside with other friends (and my darling husband) that we kinda forgot until it was waaaaaaay late and we were waaaaaaaay tired. Anyhoo.....I will be recording from a clients backyard tonight with images of her newly finished covered patio...you will also get to meet my weird friend Todd McAllister with On Stage...he is a total Rock Star! OK the....tune in at about 8 and we should be up and running...we apologize for any inconvenience! Have a lovely evening!

COCKTAIL RECIPES AND DESIGN TIPS OF THE PAST FEW WEEKS!

OK, OK...I have been quite remiss in posting our recipes and tips for the past few weeks - somehow it just seems to get away from me........SORRY!

So here they both are, which should bring us up to date!!!!! Enjoy!

COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK 06/03/2009 - NEON WATERMELON MARGARITA
1 1/4 oz. Silver Tequila. 1 oz. Midori. 1/2 oz. Daily’s Triple Sec. 1/2 cup frozen seedless watermelon cubes. Pour ingredients into blender and blend with a little ice. Pour into glass with sugared rim. Watermelon slice to garnish.

COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK 05/27/2009 - THE SCREWDRIVER AT MINT
4 oz. premium vodka
2 oz. Mandarin puree
Mix in cocktail shaker with a bit of ice – do not strain! Serve cold!
Does it get any easier than that?

COCKTAIL OF THE WEEK 05/20/2009 - THE RUBY FROM MINT
4 oz. beet infused vodka
1 oz. simple syrup
½ oz lemon juice
Put in a cocktail shaker with some ice and have at it – pour into a martini glass and enjoy!

DESIGN TIP OF THE WEEK - 06/03/2009
FOR GOD’S SAKE – change your light bulbs! Replace your yellow-ish incandescent bulbs with 30% more efficient halogens. You will get clearer, brighter light that everything looks good in – without the sickly glow of fluorescent!
